All had a grand time at Anglican Men’s Weekend where this was recorded. ABp Greg was great. One of his strengths is to cut through the bull and tell people that people are full of it. “Look, brother, this is the way it is…” I think that this is because, as he talked about several times, that he himself doesn’t surround himself with lackeys and this circle of friends (starting with his wife) have no problem telling him when he misses the mark.

By contrast, +Canterbury has been pictured tagging along to various events associated with President Obama’s state visit in his capacity of ABC [he is like a mad uncle people think they have to invite to these things although they secretly hope he won’t come]. He looks miserable and wretched, or maybe he is just plotting some more theings to screw up.
+Venables has been quietly used by the Lord in many powerful ways. One thing that really impacted me was the way that he, although a committed evangelical, was able to win the trust of many anglo-catholics when he extended alternative oversight.
Why not attend the primates meeting in Dublin…

ABp Greg also said this, “I know when I meet with a person who is in Christ.” This is so true. I can be talking to someone about the weather, the stockmarket or whatever. When Jesus is at the center of a person, he truly is a new creation and it is manifest. When I listen to Katherine Jefferts Schori, it all about power and the once Christian denomination is merely the mechanism for the failed academic to exercise power.
